Head Coaches:
Coach Mike
mike@sportsbistro.com
USA Triathlon Level 1 certified coach
NASM Certified Personal Trainer
Mike has 17 years of competitive athletic experience and over 4 years of triathlon coaching experience. He has competed and trained in numerous sports including football, wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, mixed martial arts and running before realizing that triathlon was his true calling. He combines a data-driven / scientific approach with a strong focus on improving one's mental game. Mike believes most limitations are self-imposed and perceived rather than true limitations; he specializes in breaking down these perceptions and helping athletes reach the next level. Mike has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and has completed graduate level coursework in Applied Physiology at Columbia University. Strangely, he believes Computer Science is the perfect background for a triathlon coach--if you're curious why, he might just tell you over a "recovery beverage."
